The Office Safe

Two law partners leave their office and go to lunch. In the middle of lunch the junior partner slaps his forehead.

"Damn," he says. "I forgot to lock the office safe before we left." His partner replies " What are you worried about? We're both here."

A Tough Dilemma

Boss, to four of his employees: "I'm really sorry, but I'm going to have to let one of you go."

- Black Employee: I'm a protected minority.

- Female Employee: And I'm a woman.

- Oldest Employee: Fire me, buster, and I'll hit you with an age discrimination suit so fast it'll make your head spin.

To which they all turn to look at the helpless young, white, male employee, who thinks a moment, then responds: "I think I might be gay..."

Two Psychoanalysts

Two very successful psychoanalysts occupied offices in the same building. One was 40 years old, the other over 70. They rode on the elevator together at the end of an unbearable hot, sticky day. The younger man was completely done in, and he noted with some resentment that his senior was fresh as a daisy. "I don't understand," he marveled, "how you can listen to drooling patients from morning till night on a day like this and still look so spry and unbothered when it's over."

The older analyst said simply, "Who listens?"

Constipated Construction Worker

A construction worker goes to the doctor and says, "Doc, I'm constipated."

The doctor examines him for a minute and then says, "Lean over the table."

The construction worker leans over the table, the doctor whacks him on the ass with a baseball bat, and then sends him into the bathroom.

He comes out a few minutes later and says, "Doc, I feel great. What should I do?"

The doctor says, "Stop wiping with cement bags."

Where Are The Fingers

Jon's working at the lumberyard, pushing a tree through the buzz saw, and accidentally shears off all ten of his fingers. He goes to the emergency room.

The doctor says, "Yuck! Well, give me the fingers, and I'll see what I can do."

Jon says, "I haven't got the fingers."

The doctor says, "What do you mean, you haven't got the fingers? It's 1998. We've got microsurgery and all kinds of incredible techniques. I could have put them back on and made you like new. Why didn't you bring the fingers?"

Jon says, "Well, shit, Doc, I couldn't pick 'em up."

Patient Chart Blunders

The following statements were found on patient's charts during a recent review of medical records. These statements were written by various health care professionals including (we're afraid) a doctor or two at several major hospitals:

  • "The lab test indicated abnormal lover function."
  • "Exam of genitalia reveals that he is circus sized."
  • "The skin was moist and dry."
  • "The patient had waffles for breakfast and anorexia for lunch."
  • "She stated that she had been constipated for most of her life until 1989 when she got a divorce."
  • "The patient was in his usual state of good health until his airplane ran out of gas and crashed."
  • "I saw your patient today, who is still under our car for physical therapy."
  • "The patient lives at home with his mother, father, and pet turtle, who is presently enrolled in day care three times a week."
  • "Bleeding started in the rectal area and continued all the way to Los Angeles."
  • "Both breasts are equal and reactive to light and accommodation."
  • "She is numb from her toes down."
  • "Exam of genitalia was completely negative except for the right foot."
  • "While in the emergency room, she was examined, X-rated and sent home. The patient was to have a bowel resection. However, he took a job as stockbroker instead."
  • "When she fainted, her eyes rolled around the room."
  • "Examination reveals a well-developed male lying in bed with his family in no distress."
